OILY SKIN NIGHT ROUTINE

If you’ve had just about enough of your oily skin you’ve come to the right place. Just like a seesaw (and we know oily skin is certainly up and down) it’s all about balance. Balancing your skins oil production is the key to glowing skin (I  repeat glowing, not ‘shining’). The goal is to counter the dehydration that is making your skin so thirsty to begin with. A skin-sin so to speak is ‘drying’ out oily skin (think over exfoliating, too many acids and clay masks), which actually lead to your skin producing more oil as a means to overcompensate - enter the vicious cycle. Instead we recommend going in with dehydration busters like oils and hydrating cleansers to help rebalance the natural production of oil - meaning less congestion and more happy, healthy skin that doesn't feel the urge to over produce oil.

So what on earth am I meant to actually use?

Let’s start by cleansing! A big problem leading to more skin congestion is not properly removing dirt and makeup at the end of the day. So let’s double cleanse. Start by removing the bulk of the day with our Gel Cleanser, a lightweight gel formula that is designed to soothe skin, followed by our natural AHA Ceramide Cleanser (this beauty is packed with barrier building Ceramides to help fight off nasties, strong barrier = less congestion).

Once you’ve cleansed it’s time to tone, or use one of the infamous ‘oils’ we spoke of. Our Coconut Mist Toner is a great option, including Witch Hazel to help decongest the skin and close those pores. Coconut & Nut Oil is another wonder, Macadamia Oil mimicking the skin’s sebum closely, meaning it won’t clog pores, but rather boost hydration and balance. Rosehip, Jojoba and Evening Primrose are all oily skin friendly options as well.

Seal that all in with our Hyaluronic Moisturising Cream - perfect for oily skin types as it’s packed with Hyaluronic Acid, a lightweight molecule that holds up to 1000x its own weight in water (no need for thick heavy night creams). This cream is designed to lock in moisturise, apply after your oil or serum for best results.

I need something extra?

We recommend a treatment product once a week to help settle the slick. Try our antioxidant rich Green Tea Hydrogel Mask, designed to soothe and calm skin, this mask gives skin a boost of essential nutrients and moisture, perfect when you’re having a ‘really bad skin day’. For days your skin isn’t behaving at all (sneaky blemishes, extra oily etc) pop on our coveted Mud Masque to help soothe skin and draw toxins from within (always be sure to follow this with moisturiser).
